"JUST IMAGINE IF WE, THE NORMAL GIRLS, STOOD UNITED AS AN ENORMOUS, HYSTERICAL AND PROUD ARMY. WE WOULD BE UNSTOPPABLE." - EM CLARKSON, FOUNDER.
Em Clarkson founded Pretty Normal Me in 2014 after basically looking at life around her and asking: what the f*ck?!
Despite being an inherently very happy person, she felt surrounded by a world that was against her, against all girls, all women really. A world that forces us into clothes that makes us cry, a world that objectifies women in the world's media, a world that seems to body shame us at every opportunity. So she did the only thing she knew how to do: she wrote.
At the beginning Pretty Normal Me was nothing more than a passion project, a labour of love and now, (unbelievably!) Em has written a book, an expansion of the blog that has become her entire life.
Looking at lifestyle, beauty, fashion, news, basically everything, Pretty Normal Me is hopefully a place that women can come to read things that they are genuinely interested in and not feel guilty in any way, shape or form about the share box of doughnuts that they've just eaten. Where they can wobble and be okay with it. Where they can be themselves totally unashamedly, whatever that may be. And also a place where they can come when they're not quite so happy, because it is okay not to be okay all the time.
Be strong. Be kind. Be you.
Pretty Normal Me is now a podcast and on YouTube as well.
