THINGS THAT I LEARNT FROM MY HOLIDAY

1) There is nothing cool about being sunburnt.
It's uncomfortable and for some reason kind of embarrassing, it is essential to wear suncream, PROPERLY. 

2) There is literally no point in wearing makeup. 
You will either sweat it all off or end up with panda eyes the next day in the pool because you won't have been able to take it all off properly. Because, well. Pina Coladas. 

(If you really need some, the only things that you really need are a good concealer, a good bronzing stick and MAYBE a mascara.)

3) You can get away with only taking half of what you have packed.
I learnt this the hard way, I bought home NINE clean outfits.

4) Anti-Histamines are totally essential for all eventualities. 
Because we're British and cannot handle mosquitoes. And that's just a fact.

5) Swimming costumes can be sexy as fuck.
You don't need to get your tummy out every day, particularly if you have been on the piss the night before or had a massive lunch. They're no longer just for grannies, they're just legit cool now.

6) Make the most of the time to reflect.
There's something awesome about thinking of all the stuff you're going to do at home when you can't physically do them. Get excited for work projects but don't start them until you get back, then you come back with something to look forward to, which helps.

7) It's okay to be exhausted.
Even after a day of doing sweet fuck all.

8) Make the most of the vitamins IN THE SKY.
Vitamin D is the best and not something that we get a lot of here. Take the time to pamper, hair masks, do your nails and eat ALL THE FRUIT. Your body will thank you.

9) Step away from your phone.
There is only so much downtime you can have when your glued to every body else's life.

10) Eat EVERYTHING.
I've put on all the weight this week and it was so worth it. So what I didn't look as good on the last day as I did on the first? I worked on the logic that a) tanned fat looks better than pale fat b) the food on holiday always tastes better than what I could cook so why waste it and c) by day three I was wayyy too chilled to care.

11) Fuck the bikini body.
I don't remember feeling uncomfortable and I've only been back for a couple of days. I probably did have moments of feeling a little bit self-conscious but right now I only remember having the best time ever so mehhh.

12) Take all the photos.
I never ever take enough and I always regret it. 

13) Have fun. Laugh. Chill. Enjoy it.
Don't waste a minute stressing the small stuff.
